Sheboygan Children's Book Festival Spreads the Word Using Online Promotion

If you are planning an event and are trying to reach a wide variety of audiences online, you may find it to be a bit overwhelming. Thankfully, there are experts like DynamicDevelop that can offer precisely the assistance that is needed to create top notch and effective promotional websites. Case in point - the Sheboygan Children's Book Festival planned for October 15-17, 2010.

When the partners and presenting sponsors developed the idea of the Sheboygan Children's Book Festival, they knew they had to reach parents, children, donors and volunteers - all of whom have vastly different needs from the event website. DynamicDevelop has created a website that accomplishes the many goals of the committee: to promote the festival, solicit donations, recruit volunteers and promote the event sponsors.

"When we approached DynamicDevelop last winter about creating and maintaining a website for the 2010 Sheboygan Children's Book Festival, they eagerly took on this project", said Jo Ann Dent, Co-Chair of the festival. "Having a great website is especially important for us, since we are launching a brand new event.  Dynamic Develop has done a fantastic job creating our website and the ongoing support has been excellent."

So it began with the development of the event logo. DynamicDevelop's designers, with vast experience in the graphic arts, were able to offer guidance and insight that led to the creation of a colorful logo that set the tone for the entire site. Drawing from Sheboygan's lakefront for inspiration, the team created a logo featuring the iconic Sheboygan lighthouse. The logo uses primary colors commonly associated with children's events making it appealing to kids and adults alike.

The website features biographies of the 15 outstanding children's book authors & illustrators who will be participating in the Sheboygan Children's Book Festival, sharing their works through workshops and demonstrations to those in attendance. A comprehensive event schedule will be posted in the weeks leading up to the festival.

Such a festival takes many people volunteering their time to make it happen. Those interested in volunteering will find a short, simple registration form on the website, allowing the event committee to easily and efficiently recruit the people they need to make the festival happen.

It also takes significant financial support from the community to create Wisconsin's first Children's Book Festival. Those interested in supporting the festival through donations will find a printable PDF form that can be mailed back with payment to the committee. Information is also available on becoming a sponsor of the festival, benefits of which include being featured prominently on the website.

Since so many people learn about events through social media, it is no surprise that the Sheboygan Children's Book Festival wanted the ability to drive traffic to the website from Facebook and Twitter. The festival's social networks are prominently featured on every page of the website, making it easy for people to follow the festival and share their interest in the event with others in their social networks. A visitor can even read the Festival's Twitter feed right on the website.

DynamicDevelop also provided a comprehensive email marketing platform, allowing visitors to subscribe and receive periodic updates via email. The festival committee is able to send these email newsletters out themselves in a visual template designed with the look and feel of the website.
